Why I built Promise

The problem

I've lost count of the number of times I've searched my inbox trying to remember who I told I'd get back to.

The information was there. The email wasn't lost. I had simply forgotten that there was something I was supposed to do about it.

That's the problem behind Promise.

Why email is not enough

Email is remarkably good at keeping a record of our conversations. It's much worse at remembering what those conversations mean for us afterwards.

Promise looks for the things that are easy to lose between messages: something you promised to do, something someone promised you, a date you need to come back to, or a detail about someone you'd like to remember next time you speak.

Then it brings those things back when they matter.

What I want from it

I built Promise because I don't want another system that I have to remember to maintain.

I want the things I already say and do to be enough.
